Sturdy plant with delicate, fine textured ferny, feathery, green leaves, and large flat flower heads all summer long. Grown for cut and dried flowers. Low maintenance plant that thrives with little care. Does best in a sunny well drained site in average to poor soil. Tolerant of hot summers and drought. Zone 5-9. At home in formal and informal gardens. Plant with daylilies, ornamental grass, veronica, liatris, balloon flowers, Mexican hat, coneflower, salvia, boltonia, autumn joy sedum, Russian sage, and blanket flower.
