Vigorous free-flowering plant. It forms a mound of deeply divided green leaves that turn dark red in autumn. Blooms cover the plant in late spring, then it blooms sporatically through summer until frost. Drought tolerant.
Full sun or part shade in average to dry soil. Slow spreading, can grow for many years in same spot without division. Zone 3-8.
Good for rock gardens, banks, and front of borders. Plant with mountain pinks, cushion spurge, lamium, and aubrieta.
Good for Alpines and Rock Gardens, Groundcovers. Resists deer and rabbits.
