Begonia Grandis Alba

Hardy plant produced from tubers. Large fleshy pale green heart shaped leaves, red underneath. Plants have white arching sprays with reddish buds and white drooping flowers. Partial to fairly deep shade in humus rich, moist, but well drained soil.  Plant will self-seed.   Zone: 6 to 9.   Tolerates heavy shade and Black Walnut. Good shade border plant or unusual addition to dappled shade of a woodland or shady hillside garden. It’s late to appear making this a great follow up plant for bulbs that go dormant or dicentra spectabilis and Virginia bluebells.
