Bright yellow new leaves in spring are striking. The color, however, carries through the year. Best color in full sun, but also brightens shady areas. Semi-evergreen. Moist, loamy soil in light shade. Plant resents drying out, will grow in shallow water. Zone 5 to 9. Excellent bright background plant near ponds or streams, provides good erosion control. Deer resistant.
