Prefers moist or wet sites in sun or part shade. To reduce the blooming height, cut off in late June and let the plant bloom at the new height. Zone 4-8. Use in an informal meadow, at wood’s edge or near water. Combine with ornamental grasses, ironweed, cardinal flower, asters, bone set, purple cornflower, iris or daylilies. Certainly, a plant for the back of the border.
