Popular fern during the Victorian Period. Lacy and delicate light green fronds form dense clumps that arch upward and outward giving a 3-D appearance. Not evergreen. Deer resistant. Moist, acid soil in part to full shade. Zone 4 - 9. Good for containers. Ground cover plant for shade. Plant around azaleas and shade shrubs. Light green color contrasts well with dark greens of asarum, helleborus, astilbe, and blue green hosta.
