Fern Dryopteris Marginalis Eastern Wood Fern

The leathery leaves are a beautiful addition to the woodland garden.  It forms a tidy clump that will not spread and is very tolerant of dry conditions once it has established. Wood ferns prefer average to moist, rich, well-drained soils in shade or part sun.  Best planted in masses in the shaded or woodland garden.  Likes shady, rocky ravines, and moist woodlands. Zone 3-8. Use to naturalize areas with spring woodland bulbs, bleeding hearts, actaea, epimedium, tiarella, columbine, and uvularia. Plant in shady borders. Deer Resistant
