Fern Dryopteris x Australis Dixie Wood Fern

Tall, native naturally occurring hybrid, sturdy, easy to cultivate, deciduous, wood fern with nicely divided fronds. Superb garden plant, very winter hardy. Naturally found in cool, moist rocky woods. Great in garden cultivation. Easy to cultivate if given consistent moisture during establishment Zone 5-9. Use to naturalize areas with spring woodland bulbs, bleeding hearts, actaea, epimedium, tiarella, columbine, and uvularia. Plant in shady borders and as a groundcover for woodland shrubs.
