This highly ornamental, deer resistant shrub has graceful arching canes with gray green foliage. Produces very fragrant, dark grape-purple flower spikes that attract scads of butterflies as well as other pollinators. Deer resistant.
Full sun. Average, medium moisture, well-drained soil. Avoid wet, poorly draining soils.
Grow as a cutback shrub. I suggest cutting the plant back to about a foot from the ground in late winter.
