Partial shade grass with delicate, cascading habit. Variegated yellow, white, and green bamboo like blades form dramatic clumps. Very oriental looking. Foliage turns pinkish red in fall. Moist, but well drained, fertile soil in light shade. Plants resent drying out. Slow grower but worth the effort. Zone 5-9. One of the few colorful grasses for partial shade. Plant with hostas, ferns, hellebores, tricyrtis, iris ensata, trillium, and anemone japonica.     Native to the moist mountain areas and moist woodland areas of Japan. Tolerates Black Walnut Trees & Air Pollution.   Deer Resistant but NOT rabbit resistant.
