Plant forms a clump of green straplike, arching leaves and produces branching stems bearing multiple buds that open into funnel or trumpet shaped flowers that open in succession and last for one day. Easy to grow and divide. Daylilies are tough and adaptable. Prefer rich well drained sites in full sun or light shade. Not picky about soil except dislikes boggy sites. Excessive shade will reduce blooming. Division every 3 - 5 years is recommended. Used widely in mass plantings, on banks, with shrubs, as a speciman plant in ground covers or in the perennial garden. Compliments many other plants and a reliable summer bloomer. Plant with yarrow, belamcanda, baby’s breath, coreopsis, asters, ornamental grasses, iris, and dianthus.
