Liatris Spicata Floristan Violet

Native prairie plant. Grass-like foliage forms a clump with tall flower spikes in the summer. Flowers open from the top down. Great cut flower. Average to rich, well-drained but moist soil in full sun.  May need staking if in a windy spot. Zone 3-9. Great for butterfly gardens, or naturalized meadows. Pair with yarrow, daisies, echinacea, phlox, ornamental grasses and artemesia.
