A sub-shrub with small, narrow dissected gray-green leaves and a loose, open, airy look and growing habit. Flowers in profusion from late summer into fall creating a haze of blue. Plant in full sun in average to poor well drained, to even dry soil. Can be used as a herbaceous hedge, in the back of a mixed sunny border or in a cut flower garden. A great filler for the garden because its airy hazy look softens harsher colors. Plant in sun with daylilies, coreopsis, heliopsis, helenium, hibiscus, yarrow, salvia, boltonia, and rudbeckia
