Native substitute for dianthus. Well behaved plant with bright green foliage growing from basal rosettes. Very bright flowers form on branching stems. A cross between silene and lychnis. Plant in Average to sandy soil in bright shade or full sun. Requires good drainage. Plant with anthemis, coreopsis, echinops, erigeron, heliopsis, linum, lychnis, and nepeta. Great for naturalizing or as a specimen.
