Strong and stout stems support the large silvery pink bundles of flowers that bloom from last from early summer to fall. Largest of the flowers occur after plant establishes its root system. Makes great cut flowers when fresh or dried! Good choice for shady mixed border or in shadier spots as large blooms brighten darker areas.
Attracts pollinators.
Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soil. When planted in higher sun, maintain consistent soil moisture. Zone 3-8.
Blooms on new wood - shrub can be cut back to about 1/3 its height in early spring to encourage new growth.
Apply flowering shrub granular fertilizer in early spring before new growth occurs.
