Fast growing ground cover with 2 or 3 broad leaves arising from each pip. In the spring, the flower stalks come between the leaves. Thrive in a wide range of condtions. Usually seen in shady areas. Introduced to US from Europe. Zone 3-8. Use as a ground cover under shrubs and trees in mass. Not a native, but has naturalized in North America.
