An early flowering clematis with large, 5-7", semi-double pink and white flowers that bloom along the vine. The initial bloom occurs in early summer and is stronger than the second round in late summer/early fall. Can be trained to climb on walls or trellises, or can sprawl as a ground cover.
Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 4-8.
Attracts pollinators. Black Walnut tolerant.
Blooms on old and new wood - avoid pruning as it will remove either first or second round of flowers. Vine tips may be trimmed in early spring, this will still allow lower down, old-wood buds to bloom.
Apply mulch at root zone to keep soil cool and uniformly moist.
