Hydrangea Serrata Tiny Tough Stuff Pw 4 Gal

Serrata hydrangeas are very bud hardy and bloom reliable.  The flowers are delicate but very tough. Likes abundant moisture but not wet feet. Deep humus soil preferred. Protect from winter winds. Literature suggests sun or light shade. I fear the hot afternoon sun on our 90 degree days. Sulphur is a good inexpensive naturally occurring additive to quickly lower ph. Best in the understory of the shade garden. Mass hydrangeas but mix the colors and flower types. Prune after bloom and protect from winter winds since blooms form on last year’s growth. Zone 5-9.
