‘Berry Heavy’s’ small white flowers are pollinated by ‘Mr. Poppins’ in spring. After leaves drop in fall, the astonishing vibrancy of these bright red berries is able to fully shine! Use as a specimen or in groups. One male plant will pollinate 5-7 female plants; plant within 50’ of one another to assure good pollination. An excellent rain garden, boggy soil, wetland or riparian choice.
Tolerates boggy soils, deer resistant, attracts pollinators.
Full sun- part sun. Any soil that is moist-wet. Zone 3-9.
Pruning generally weakens plant's flower and fruit production. However, old branches can be removed in early spring if they are no longer producing vigorous growth.
