Enjoy the dark rosy-pink clusters of flowers that cover this shrub from mid-summer - mid fall. Dark green foliage turns a bronze-red in the fall. A more upright shrub. Use in informal hedges, as a low screen, as a small specimen.
Tolerates clay, heat, and air pollution, attracts pollinators, deer resistant.
Full sun. Average, moist, well-draining soils. Water thoroughly in drought. Zone 6-9. Because our winters are within the coldest of itβs tolerance range, there may be some winter die back. Protect from winter winds.
Protect in winter by applying mulch. Benefits from slow release fertilizer application in spring.
This plant rarely requires pruning, however, blooms on new wood - if needed, prune in early spring as new growth begins to emerge.
