Compact rounded Azalea with small, single, bright red flowers on a wider than tall shrub. Evergreen foliage is deep green in growing season and turns dark green/yellow in winter. This shrub looks great as a specimen, in groups, as a hedge or in borders. A nice addition to woodland and shade gardens.

Part shade. Acidic (5-5.5 pH), rich, humusy, consistently moist, well-draining soil.

Attracts pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds, Rabbit resistant.

Consider planting in raised bed if planting in heavy clay soil.

Apply mulch to protect shallow root system as well as maintain soil moisture and stabilize soil temperatures.

To lower pH add an acidifier such as sulfur of iron sulfate, to increase pH add limestone or lime to soil.

Remove spent blooms immediately after flowering as practical.
