Dense, multi-stemmed, evergreen native whose foliage emerges copper and turns to deep, glossy green. Toped with pink buds from early winter to late spring when they bloom into clusters of white and pink. Recommended for shrub borders, naturalistic woodland gardens, rock gardens, or as a specimen.
Deer resistant, attracts pollinators, tolerates rocky soils.
Full Sun- part shade. More flower clusters in higher sun. Rich, light, moist-drier, well-draining soils. Prefers sandy and slightly acidic soils. Avoid alkaline, wet, and heavy clay conditons. Zone 4-9.
Does not require pruning. Remove spent flowers to prevent seed production that will reduce flower production the following year, as well as increase bushiness of the plant.
Apply mulch to keep roots cool in summer and protect them in winter.
