Mid-large-sized multi-stemmed shrub with an upright habit that can be trained as a small tree. Deciduous deep burgundy foliage lasts all season long, emerging just before the beautifully complementing and fragrant white and pink tinted flowers. Flowers bloom in mid-spring and fruit ripens in in July, and is eaten by birds. Deep foliage and strong flowering makes this shrub/small tree a great option for specimens, foundation plantings, accents, hedges, borders, and screens.
Full sun - part shade. Best foliage and flowering in full sun. Moist, rich well-draining soils. Zone 2-8.
Tolerates urban conditions, attracts pollinators, birds eat fruits.
Blooms on old wood - if needed, prune immediately after blooming.
