'Gro-Low' produces small yellowish flowers from mid-late spring that give way to hairy red berries that persist to winter. The common name, Fragrant Sumac, comes from the intensely fragrant stems and leaves that produce a lovely earthy-lemony scent. Those leaves by the way turns some of the most vivid autumnal colors in fall, filling your space in with golds, reds, and oranges. As a wide and low growing shrub it's an excellent way to fill in space without adding too much height. We recommend planting this shrub near foot traffic or somewhere the lovely scent can be appreciated.
Attracts pollinators, rabbit resistant, drought, clay, dry soil, and shallow-rocky soil tolerant.
Full sun - part shade. Best fall color in higher sun. Average, drier, well-draining soil.
