'Percy-Wiseman' is a flower-color changing Rhododendron! Yup, you read that right, this rhododendron's flowers open creamy-pink and transition through shades of red, pink and pale purple as they mature to creamy white with a strong yellow throat. The semi-dwarf, rounded compact form is composed of dense glossy green evergreen foliage that layers nicely. A fantastic option for beds, borders, containers, and small gardens.
Full sun - part shade. Cool, rich, acidic, humusy, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 6-8.
Attracts pollinators including birds and butterflies.
Consider planting in raised bed if planting in heavy clay soil.
Apply mulch to protect shallow root system as well as maintain soil moisture and stabilize soil temperatures.
To lower pH add an acidifier such as sulfur of iron sulfate, to increase pH add limestone or lime to soil.
Remove spent blooms immediately after flowering.
