Fans of broad, flat, pointed leaves grow from thick rhizomes that creep along the soil surface. Flower stalks emerge bearing large buds that open to big papery irises with bearded falls. This Iris features plum red petals with a dark blotch and an orange beard. Blooms from late spring to early summer. Plant in full sun in average to dry, well drained soil that does not remain too wet in winter. Deer and rabbit resistant.
