This low growing evergreen offers year-round interest. From mid-spring to early summer, yellow flowers appear above the leaves. Come fall, those flowers have become clusters of waxy blue edible berries and folaige gains attracts shades of purple and red. Both berries and roots are medicinal. Consider planting on slopes as this shrub has good erosion control. This shrub also works well in woodland gardens and as a ground cover.
