This is a stunning, very heavy flowering vine, complete with semi evergreen foliage. Fast, aggressive growth, low maintenance. Needs a sturdy structure to climb up. Grow this vine up pergolas, sturdy trellises, brick walls, or fences.
Pruning is not necessary, but you may prune it to size and shape after itβs done blooming in the spring. Blooms on old wood.
Deer do graze on this plant in addition to susceptibility to mildew, blight, and leaf spot.
Native in Ohio down to Texas.
Star shaped trumpet flowers have an orange margin and a yellow throat.
