At it’s best in the winter sun, this native's striking fiery red color and vase form provide a spark to your landscape. Produces clusters of white flowers in late spring/early summer and berries follow from late fall throughout winter that may last as long as spring. This dwarf Dogwood is shorter than the conventional Red Twig Dogwood, making an excellent option for smaller gardens. Cut branches make for striking winter cut arrangements or holiday décor! Grown for winter twig color and its ability to handle tough wet sites. Use alone or mass for more effect.
Deer Resistant, attracts pollinators.
Full sun-part shade. Any moist-wet, well-draining-boggy soils. Zone 2-7. Naturally found in wetland areas.
Prune 1/3rd of old grayed twigs back each year to maintain vibrant red appearance.
Apply a granular fertilizer formulated for trees and shrubs at time of pruning.
