'Cardinal Candy' is a viburnum with an upright-rounded, dense and bushy, free-branching habit that's best known for its winter hardiness and sparkling red berries. Those berries, formed in pendulous clusters, come in late summer after a short waiting period post the late spring bloom when this shrub is covered in fragrant, puffy cream colored flower clusters. And let's not forget about the charming bright green foliage that becomes red a glorious shade of red in fall. Though this viburnum will produce fruit without a companion, we recommend planting it along with 2 or more of the same species, such as another 'Cardinal Candy' or with 'Tandoori Orange' for greater fruit production on both shrubs. This Viburnum looks great in boarders, screens, foundations, hedges or open woodland gardens.

Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soils. Zone 5-8.

Deer resistant, attracts pollinators, some drought tolerance once established.

Blooms on old wood - may be prune immediately after flowering at the expense of fruit.
