This dense, mound-forming, evergreen produces large tresses of lemon yellow flowers that bloom in mid spring. A great option for groups or as a specimen, in borders, woodland or shade gardens or margins, foundations, and hedges.
Part shade- full shade. Cool, rich, humusy, acidic, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 5-8.
Attracts pollinators, rabbit resistant.
Consider planting in raised bed if planting in heavy clay soil.
Apply mulch to protect shallow root system as well as maintain soil moisture and stabilize soil temperatures.
To lower pH add an acidifier such as sulfur of iron sulfate, to increase pH add limestone or lime to soil.
Remove spent blooms immediately after flowering.
