This variety produces nearly black foliage in the spring that fades to green in the summer. White snapdragon-like flowers that resemble the head of a turtle with its mouth open. Best grown in moist to wet, rich, humusy soil in full shade to part sun. Appreciates a composted leaf mulch, especially in sunnier locations.
