This massive hosta features large blue leaves with a wavy yellow margin. In summer the margins turn to a creamy white. One of the first varieties to emerge in spring.
Long lived, easy to grow plants in filtered sunlight or full shade. Grows best in rich, moist soil but tolerant of dry shade.
Zone 3-9.
The mainstays of the shade garden. Mixed mass plantings of hosta can create an interesting groundcover of shapes and colors. Hostas emerge late in spring so interplant with spring flowering bulbs and ephemerals. Plant with ferns, tricyrtis, helleborus, pulmonaria, woodland phlox, and aster diviratica.
