Baptisia American Goldfinch

This big, bold and beautiful native cultivar is perfect for that large space in your garden or for mass plantings in landscapes. Full sun in well drained, average soil that is not overly fertile. Very good tolerance to poor soil and drought. Long lived plant that should not be disturbed once established. Zone 4-9. Good middle of the sunny border plant that will have a shrub like effect. Plant with asclepias, asters, echinacea, garden phlox, iris, liatris, and salvia. Provides a good focal point in border.
