Woodland plant with upright, gracefully arching leafy stems. Foliage emerges dark purple, leathery, oblong. Nodding yellow flowers appear at terminal ends in spring. Partial to full shade in a cool, hummus rich site. Will tolerate dry shade. Zone 6-9. Graceful plant for woodland garden with hostas, ferns, tiarella, woodland phlox, tricyrtis, and galium. Semi-evergreen.
