Also called Auriculate Lady Fern. A Japanese species, plants form a clump of arching triangular leaves. At first they are pale green with maroon stems, then change to grey-green. Shaded moist garden where the soil is loose so rhizome and roots can spread well. Zone 3-8. Combines well with colorful heuchera, other ferns, hostas, campanula, and columbines.
