The ‘Double Take™’ series has a longer blooming season, and thornless branches. Buds start to bloom the large, double, red flowers before lush green foliage emerges. A low-no maintenance shrub, with a mound habit. A nice choice for landscape planting, cut flowers, or espalier.
Full sun-part sun. Most flowers in full sun. Average, moist-drier, well-draining soil. Zone 5-9.
Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant. Heat and drought tolerant once established.
Blooms on old wood - prune immediately after blooming. Pruning generally not required.
Apply a controlled release fertilizer in early spring.
