This durable, sun tolerant hydrangea was developed specifically for extremely strong stems with the longest lasting mop head blooms. Flowers, that are Bright red in neutral to alkaline soils or red-violet in acidic conditions, are produced throughout summer on old and new wood. Use for accent planting in beds and containers. Also, makes great cut flowers, both fresh and dried.  If planted in container we recommend bringing plant indoors over winter.

Attracts pollinators, salt tolerant.

Full sun- part sun. Average, moist, well-draining soil. When planted in high sun, apply mulch to maintain even soil moisture. Zone 5-9.

Prune to remove death and damage only, additional pruning will negatively impact flower production.

Fertilize with granular rose fertilizer in early spring when ground thaws, and again in late spring. Never fertilize later than late July as additional nutrients  interfere with shrub’s dormancy cycle.
