This mildew resistant Crepe Myrtle blooms later than others but come midsummer, itโs packed tight with huge dark violet blooms till mid fall when itโs foliage turns a vibrant bronzy red-orange. A more upright shrub. Use in informal hedges, as a low screen, as a small specimen. Great showy shrub for smaller yards, and patio areas. Full Sun. Average, moist, rich, well-draining soil. Zones 6-10. Because out winters are on the colder end of it's tolerable range for this Crepe Myrtle, some winter dieback may occur.
Prune to 3-7 main trunks in late winter-early spring and remove suckers from older trees.
