This bushy, deciduous shrub produces its fragrant, snowball clusters of pink flowers that fade to brilliant white in spring. Come mid-summer, red fruits appear and ripen to black by late summer; a tasty treat for the birds. Foliage that emerges copper colored matures to dark green before revealing its attractive deep red to burgundy fall coloring. A wonderful specimen or foundation planting. Also makes a nice boarder, hedge or screen.
Full sun - part shade. Average, moist, well-draining soil. Zone 4-7.
Attracts pollinators.
Blooms on old wood - may be prune immediately after flowering, however this will be at the expense of the fruit.
