A compact native Viburnum of glossy dark green foliage, blooming aromatic, flat-toped flower clusters in late spring/early summer. Come late summer light pink berries form and begin changing color to purplish-black as they ripen. Lovely in shrub boarders, foundations and hedges. Consider this Viburnum for those low lying, wet spots such as zone 1 of rain garden, and areas along the periphery of a body of water. NOTE: For best fruit production, we recommend planting this Viburnum with another Viburnum nudum selection like 'Brandywine'.
Full sun to part shade. Average, moist-wet, well-draining soils.
Attracts pollinators including butterflies, tolerates occasional boggy conditions.
Bloom son old wood - if desired, prune immediately after flowering at the expense of fruit.
