Highbush blueberries are attractive shrubs for the landscape and produce large, edible blueberries. Self-fertile, but better fruit set with two different cultivars. Blooms waxy-white flowers from mid-late spring, followed by mid-late season harvest beginning around August. High frost resistance. Most commonly used for pick-your-own operations.
Full sun. Average, moist, acidic, well-draining soil. Zone 3-6.
Attracts pollinators including bees and birds.
To maximize berry production: prune flowers the first year of planting to encourage vegetative growth. After 3 years, remove oldest 1/3 of canes.
